Investigating Missing and Abducted Children
One and Two Day Training Courses
Investigating the mysterious disappearance of a child is one of the most challenging and emotionally taxing cases for a law enforcement professional. These investigations are time critical and require investigators to manage the investigation, as well as the overwhelming volume of resources needed for a successful resolution. However, the most challenging part of the investigation is understanding the nuances of missing child cases and knowing how critically important those resources are and when to request them.

In this class, the 302 Consulting Group’s expert instructors will provide students with the tools, techniques and strategies that have been demonstrated to be the most effective when time is of the essence. Our instructors are former team leaders for the FBI’s national Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team and have operationally deployed nationwide to investigate missing child and child abduction cases. They will provide critically important information for those responding to and supporting a missing child investigation. This information is critical to all patrol officers, investigators, executive management, and support staff assigned to these cases.
The training is based upon extensive research conducted by the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit III and contained within the Child Abduction Response Plan (CARP), which has become the national standard for the best investigative practices.
The course is a combination of traditional lecture and case studies to illustrate and reinforce lessons learned. Each student will be provided with an electronic version of the Child Abduction Response Plan along with other important documents to aid in their investigations. Upon completion of the training, the attendees will be better equipped to respond to missing child investigations.
